Despite Corona fears, Queen Elizabeth II will host the royal family’s annual Christmas dinner on Tuesday.

Queen Elizabeth II (95) wants to have the traditional Christmas dinner with her family despite concerns about rising corona numbers (Omicron). She has invited fifty family members to Windsor Castle next Tuesday.

As “Mail Online” reports further, among other things, the British heir to the throne Prince Charles (73) and his wife, Duchess Camilla (74), are expected. The Queen can also look forward to three of her four new grandchildren – August Brooksbank (10 months) from Princess Eugenie (31), Lucas Tindall (9 months) from Zara Tindall (40) and Sienna Mapelli Mozzi (3 months) from Princess Beatrice (33). Queen’s grandson Prince Harry (37), his wife, Duchess Meghan (49), and their two children, Archie (2 1/2) and Lili Mountbatten-Windsor (6 months), on the other hand, will not travel to England, but rather to the USA stay.

Before Corona, the Queen’s Christmas dinner always took place in Buckingham Palace, last year it was completely canceled. And this year too, fears are growing louder. But the Queen is apparently still holding on to the appointment.

Christmas in Sandringham

The day after Christmas dinner, the monarch will leave for her country estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, to spend Christmas there. The royal family will join her on Christmas Eve and traditionally attend mass together at St. Mary Magdalene Church on December 25th. It will be the Queen’s first Christmas in 73 years without her husband, Prince Philip (1921-2021), who died in April at the age of 99.
