Less than a week after the funeral, the first image of Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb was released.

The late Queen Elizabeth II found her final resting place last Monday. Now the first photo of her grave has been published.

Last Monday, the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) was buried at Windsor Castle. The royal family published the first photo of the tombstone late on Saturday evening. According to the palace, the slab is made of hand-carved black marble from Belgium. The letters and dates of life immortalized on it are made of brass. Her late husband Prince Philip (1921-2021) and her parents, Queen Mum (1900-2002) and her father King George VI are also buried in the family tomb. (1895-1952). The coat of arms of the Order of the Garter to which the family belonged was also placed on the plate.

Tomb open to visitors from September 29th

The tomb is in the King George VI Memorial Chapel and was decorated with numerous wreaths and bouquets. The tomb has not yet been opened to visitors. It will only be allowed to visit the Queen’s final resting place from September 29th. Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8th at the age of 96. In a state funeral, the Queen was buried on September 19 at Windsor Castle.
