If Al Jazeera ever came up with the idea of filming the story of the Murdoch family with, let’s say, Asian main actors – how would you find that in Australia, where the media mogul comes from, how would you find it in the USA, where his media for parts have almost become something like identity-forming for the population? In the metropolises one would probably be amused. Not having a white person represent the owner, partly hidden, partly openly xenophobic sheets and transmitters, that would be an ironic punch line. In the Fox News home territory off the coast of the USA, in the Australian outback: some might be not amused.
