As expected, the large hall in the community center was not really full on the occasion of the Putzbrunn citizens’ meeting. Rather the opposite was the case, a total of 33 people accepted the invitation from Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (SPD) to obtain information on the currently relevant topics, including a number of local councils.

The reluctance to do so was probably due to a certain extent to the pandemic situation. This was also discussed in the 75-minute lecture by the town hall chief, if only because he brought the news that the traditional Christmas market on the first weekend of Advent will not be able to take place this year either: “In October, the status was still that we would do it , only two stand operators said they weren’t going to take part, “said Klostermeier. But since then another five have withdrawn. “And so it was with a heavy heart that I decided to cancel,” said Klostermeier. The senior citizens’ Christmas in the community center, scheduled for December 4th, could not take place either, said the mayor, who announced on the sidelines of the event that the next edition of the village festival planned for summer 2022 would also be canceled: “I have a different concept than before in the back of my mind , The lead time is too short for implementation due to Corona. ” Klostermeier now hopes that the boys’ association can at least set up the maypole.

The corona situation was probably one of the reasons for the sparse attendance at the citizens’ meeting, but it is possible that many people simply saw no reason to listen to the report because there are currently hardly any problem areas in the community. One exception is the growing shortage of childcare staff: “We are still able to accommodate everyone under difficult conditions,” said Klostermeier. In the future, one would have to improvise, for example, in the kindergarten on Rathausstrasse, changing groups would be formed in order to be able to offer childcare options to all children.

In order to give qualified staff an incentive to come to Putzbrunn, the community has been looking after affordable housing for years. The tenants have now been able to move into the Parkstrasse residential complex on the district’s property. There, the square meter costs between ten and 15 euros, the rent depends on the income of the residents. “This is checked every three years and adjusted accordingly,” said Klostermeier.

A number of development plans, which the political bodies of the municipality occupy for years, would now be decided in a timely legally binding manner, as the mayor explained. To the east of Solalindenstrasse, 82 residential units are being built, 17 of which belong to the community and are used for social land use (Sobon). In Oedenstockach, after a good ten years of planning, 40 residential units are now being built east and west of Keferloher-Markt-Straße, which is fewer than originally planned, which is due to the protests of the residents, as the mayor explained. And the “Winterholler property” in the forest colony, which has also been fallow for many years, could soon be developed, with a further 74 apartments being built there, all of which are to remain in the property of the investor. There, too, the Sobon principle is sometimes applied, and the development plan will probably become legally binding in mid-2022.

The construction of the grammar school is also progressing; the architectural competition will come to an end next week.

And so Klostermeier dealt with one topic after the other and had good news to report, especially in the municipal finances: The trade tax income in 2021 is expected to be 15.7 million euros, in 2020 it will still be 11 million euros. Overall, the mayor expects an annual profit of almost four million euros. “Many groan because of the effects of Corona. That does not apply to Putzbrunn.”
