Pullach: Otfried-Preußler-Gymnasium is now “School against Racism” – district of Munich

If a high school is allowed to call itself “school without racism – school with courage”, that does not mean that the playground and classrooms will henceforth be completely non-discriminatory. Wherever people, including many young people, meet, there are also conflicts that are not always resolved in the spirit of unprejudiced justice and fairness. But it is a sign: the title includes the official obligation of students, parents and teachers to consciously advocate a climate in which people should not fear bullying, discrimination or even violence because of their skin color, religion or origin.

The Otfried-Preußler-Gymnasium in Pullach is now part of Germany’s largest school network “School without Racism – School with Courage”. The corresponding badge was handed over on Monday. The event, which was flanked by a small ceremony, was attended not only by the mayor of Pullach, Susanna Millennium (Greens) and headmaster Benno Fischbach, but also by the initiators of the project, the students Julia Eichhorn, Rosalie Woinoff and Hannah Thamerus, as well as project supervisor Sabine Simon.
