There will be no bad air in Pullach schools in autumn. The parents of schoolchildren don’t have to worry, promises Peter Kotzur, the municipal building authority. All rooms in the elementary school, the middle school and the Otfried-Preußler-Gymnasium that cannot be opened via windows have now been equipped with air filter systems, reports Kotzur. The high school reported the greatest need, in which 22 of 51 rooms could not be adequately ventilated. In elementary and middle school there were four each. An engineering office determined the need at the end of 2020, which examined the air quality in various classrooms and common rooms of the three schools on behalf of the municipality. The building authority had also consulted a building physicist. The local council finally approved 45,000 euros for a short-term solution, the purchase of mobile Hepa air filter systems. At the same time, however, the committee decided at its meeting in December 2020 to replace this temporary solution with decentralized ventilation and air conditioning systems within a year, for which costs of 445,000 euros were estimated. For particularly difficult rooms, according to Kotzur, plans are being made to install a permanent ventilation system, for example in the lunchtime care rooms. In the town hall, people are currently thinking about equipping all classrooms that can be ventilated through a window with mobile air filter systems. The topic will be dealt with at the local council meeting on July 27th.
