According to the club, the scene is said to have been filmed by a Real employee, whereupon Al-Khelaifi is said to have said to him: “I’ll kill you.” The employee did not comply with Leonardo’s request to delete the video and instead sent it to UEFA.

Before Al-Khelaifi made it to the referee, he was from the TV station, according to Spanish journalist Monica Marchante Movistar first landed at Real kit manager Megia Davila. Loud Cadena COPE he is also said to have shouted at uninvolved people and thrown objects around on the way to the referee.

The stumbling block was when Karim Benzema made it 1-1. According to Leonardo, he “clearly fouled” PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma before his first of three goals.

PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino described the scene as “Shame: It’s not possible not to talk about this serious mistake. It can’t be that something like this happens in 2022. We dominated for 60 minutes, the goal changed everything. We made mistakes. But the clearest mistake was made by VAR.”

Leonardo added dejectedly: “At half-time we were convinced that we were the better team and that we were coming with a team that could win the competition. If something happens, we have to think about it and think about why it happened, but for that we need time. This is a heavy blow.”
