PSG boss Leonardo angry about Argentina’s Messi nomination
Once again, the surrender of a star player causes trouble: Lionel Messi is injured at PSG, but he is now supposed to play for Argentina.
At Paris Saint-Germain there is a lot of incomprehension that Lionel Messi had to leave for the national team of Argentina. The Albiceleste had nominated the superstar for the upcoming international matches, although he is currently struggling with knee and thigh problems and could not be used at the weekend.
“We do not believe that a player should be nominated who is not in the physical condition to play or is in rehab,” said Paris sporting director Leonardo Le Parisien.
Messi is set to play against Uruguay and Brazil
“That is simply not logical,” he added and asked the world football association FIFA to find a solution to what he saw as a problem.
Messi has missed nine games so far this season. With Argentina he will play against Uruguay and Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers in the coming days.
