“Skull and Bones” costs 80 euros. However, you can get started for free with a demo that has now been published in the PlayStation Store. The progress made in this will not be lost.
“Skull and Bones” has been on the market since this week and puts an end to the long-term production with several postponements – at least almost. Development continues, as the pirate title is to be improved and expanded with additional content.
There have been very few tests published for “Skull and Bones” so far. However, as part of the open beta, players had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the adventures on the high seas.
Even after the launch, interested parties don’t have to buy the shark in a bag. There is an extensive demo waiting to be downloaded in the PlayStation Store.

The demo is listed directly in the “Skull and Bones” product entry and can be added to the library for free with one click.
In this case, free doesn’t mean free: The progress made in the demo, which lasts several hours, is retained and can be transferred to the game after purchasing the full version.
“Everything you did and unlocked during the free demo will be saved and available to you if you purchase the full version of the game,” writes Ubisoft.
With at least 79.99 euros* “Skull and Bones” is not a bargain in the PlayStation Store or at other retailers. For many interested parties it might be too big a hurdle, especially since the first user ratings are in the mid-range range. On PSN, almost 3,000 players gave it an average of 3.25 out of five possible stars.
On our final beta survey Almost 3,800 readers took part. The score here was 2.92/5. Technical problems were manageable and a purchase recommendation was also given, but usually in connection with a reduced price. Overall, 75 percent of participants think that “Skull and Bones” should go into the library – but in the opinion of many players, not for around 80 euros.
Ubisoft explained why they decided on a full-price game a week ago:
“Skull and Bones” was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The endgame and post-launch content were the subject of an announcement in January.
