Protest against the right in many places in Bavaria – Bavaria

In Bavaria, thousands of people took to the streets again on Saturday to demonstrate against the right. According to the police, around 6,500 people gathered in Schweinfurt in Lower Franconia, and around 6,000 people gathered in Ingolstadt in Upper Bavaria under the motto “Together against the right – for democratic diversity”. According to the police, around 1,500 people took part in a meeting in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz under the motto “Silence is no longer enough – become active against the right.”

There were larger gatherings with several thousand people on Saturday in Passau and Straubing in Lower Bavaria, among others. The police did not initially have any number of participants. According to the information, the meetings took place peacefully and without incident. In Schweinfurt there were temporary disruptions to traffic due to the large number of demonstrators.

Several demonstrations against the right are also planned in the Free State on Sunday – for example in Dachau, Friedberg and Memmingen. The protests were triggered by revelations from the Correctiv research center about a meeting of radical right-wingers on November 25th in Potsdam, in which AfD politicians as well as individual members of the CDU and the very conservative Values Union took part.
