Boy buried on North Sea beach – doctor resuscitates ten-year-old
A dramatic scene suddenly occurs on the beach in Wangerooge: A boy was digging a tunnel in the sand – but then the structure collapsed.
A ten-year-old boy is on the beach on the North Sea island Wangerooge was buried in a sand hole. The parents, many first responders and the island fire department freed him before an emergency doctor and the rescue service resuscitated the boy.
A helicopter flew the child in critical condition to a clinic on the mainland on Thursday afternoon, police announced on Friday. There is currently no further information about the health of the boy from Lower Saxony.
Boy in Wangerooge completely buried by sand
According to the police’s initial findings, the dramatic incident occurred on the eastern beach of the island in the Wadden Sea in Lower Saxony at around 4:30 p.m.
According to the information, the boy and his 13-year-old brother dug two holes about 1.50 meters deep and tried to connect them with a tunnel. But the building collapsed and completely buried the younger man in sand.
