It was cold Wednesday in the Ardennes. But not enough to discourage a dozen teachers from the college of Signy-l’Abbaye. In order to protest against the scheduled closure of several classes within their establishment, everyone took off their clothes. Then they unveiled banners with explicit messages, including “Rural college on straw”. They continued their action, dressed this time, in front of the direction of the departmental services of National Education of the department, in Charleville-Mézières.
Two new demonstrations which follow others, for a few years. Since their college is regularly subject to class closures. One is planned for the next school year.
“Even today we are not giving up on this decision to cut us a class at the start of the next school year. In a tone of humor but with a desire not to let ourselves be “plundered” by teachers or students, we illustrate with these photos the loss of human and financial resources within our college. It is therefore impossible to carry out all of our missions in good conditions to promote the success of the greatest number”, write the protesting teachers on the dedicated Facebook page.
