The fraudulent trade in puppies is a lucrative business for criminals – animal rights activists are sure of that. Business is booming, especially on the Internet. Certain platforms feature photos of cute puppies claiming to be purebred or what are known as hybrid dogs. In other words, dogs whose parents belong to two different breeds and which are mated in order to unite the positive characteristics of both breeds in their offspring. Hybrid dogs are therefore particularly valuable. Two dealers, a man and a woman, who took advantage of this, now have to answer in criminal proceedings before the district court of Munich.
