Less sales, increasing losses, staff cuts, pressure from the major shareholder: things are currently not going well at the television company Pro Sieben Sat 1. Andreas Wiele, 61, chairman of the supervisory board for two years, is now reckoning with the past and pushing for a quick sale of the investments in the many online companies. In the future, Pro Sieben Sat 1 should concentrate fully on the television business again, says Wiele, who was a board member at the media company Axel Springer for 20 years. There shouldn’t be any more places on the supervisory board for the major shareholder, Berlusconi’s company Media for Europe (MFE), but he is approaching the Italians.
