A police officer, former trainer at the Toulouse police academy, was found guilty on Thursday of sexual harassment and endangering the lives of others by the criminal court. He was sentenced to three years in prison, 30 months of which were suspended.

From January to August 2022, in the Toulouse region and in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the 54-year-old former chief brigadier sexually harassed around twenty young women: students, former students of the police academy, ex-colleagues or unknown women. crossed in the street.

In particular, he followed a Toulouse woman by car to her home while making comments of a sexual nature.

His sentence was accompanied by an obligation to care for and compensate the victims, a ban on working in public service for five years, and registration on the sex offenders register.

On the stand, the former police officer barely explained himself, just saying he regretted and acknowledged the facts. He indicated “having experienced diabetic and psychiatric decompensations after contracting Covid-19 in 2021”, leading to “uncontrollable impulses”. The defendant had been interned.

During the hearing, Cédrik Bréan, the official’s lawyer, insisted on “the psychiatric break” that his client experienced.
