Pascal Cardonna, alias “Babybel”, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, including 18 months suspended, by the criminal court of Nîmes. He appeared regularly in the videos of his friend Jeremstar, the most followed Frenchman on Snapchat at the end of the 2010s. He was a specialist in scoops in the world of reality TV and carried out interviews with public figures.
“Babybel”, a former executive at a local radio station, was accused of inviting minors to orgies at his home. The affair had erupted on the sidelines of a settling of scores with another influencer, during which a Jeremstar sex tape was broadcast.
“A real ambush”
Jeremstar has dissociated himself from Pascal Cardonna and has not been worried in this matter. The latter was prosecuted for bribery of minors, direct provocation of minors to excessive alcohol consumption, sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor and resorting to prostitution of a minor. Facts he has always denied.
For Stéphane Bertrand, deputy prosecutor of Nîmes, “Babybel” “used his friendship with Jeremstar [pour] catch minors in its clutches (…) The young people who came to meet their idol found themselves in a real ambush, ”he pleaded.
Pascal Cardonna is prohibited from approaching minors during the 18 months of his probationary suspension. He was also entered in the sex offender register.
