Princess Kate (40) chose a special royal accessory for a reception at Buckingham Palace. The Princess of Wales welcomed diplomats to the London residence on Tuesday evening (December 6) with Prince William (40), King Charles (74) and Queen Camilla (75). Kate wore the “Lotus Flower Tiara” to the event. According to media reports, it is the first time since a state banquet in 2015 that Williams’ wife presented the headdress. Also in 2013 Kate showed up with this tiara.
The “Lotus Flower Tiara” was said to have been made by Queen Mum (1900-2002) from a necklace that was a wedding gift from her husband George VI. (1895-1952) was. Later it is said to have become Princess Margaret’s (1930-2002) favorite tiara.
Kate wears Jenny Packham gown
In addition to the tiara, Princess Kate’s dress also caused a stir at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening. She appeared in a red Jenny Packham gown. She paired the floor-length, tight-fitting outfit with floral embellishments with diamond earrings that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), who died in September. Kate wore her hair loose and straight.
King consort Camilla appeared at the diplomatic reception wearing the “Belgian Sapphire Tiara” and matching necklace of diamonds and sapphires, also previously jewels of the Queen. King Charles’ wife chose a dark Anna Valentine dress for the event.
