What an exciting year for Princess Eugenie of York! Prince Andrew’s daughter became a mother for the first time in February, and in November her little August was baptized in the presence of Queen Elizabeth. Now she shared a previously unseen photo of the ceremony.

As so many have done in the past few days, Princess Eugenie of York also reviewed the year 2021. On Instagram, she shared ten photos from the past twelve months and wrote: “A happy new year for everyone, goodbye 2021. A year that has blessed us with our boy and our family has seen grow, but also a year that has us Took some of our greatest and brightest lights. Forever in our hearts. ”

In the snapshots there are many of the princess, husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August. The baby was born on February 9th. Among the pictures are also one of the Queen with the late Prince Philip and one of Jack with his late father. George Brooksbank died in mid-November – a week before his grandson was baptized.

Princess Eugenie of York: joint baptism with cousin Zara Tindall

On November 21, a manageable circle gathered – according to Corona rules – in the All Saints Chapel of Windsor Castle. On this day, however, not only August Brooksbank was baptized, but also his cousin Lucas Tindall. The boy is the third child of Eugenies – and Prince Harry and Prince Williams – cousin Zara Tindall. In the background of Eugenie’s snapshot, the blonde can be seen with her baby son.

What the picture also proves is which baby had the honor to wear the famous and traditional christening gown of the Windsors: It was August. The Honiton christening gown was requested by Queen Victoria and was last worn by Lady Louise, daughter of Prince Edward and Countess Sophie, when she was baptized in 2004. Since then, a replica has been circulating in which, in addition to the children of Prince William and Duchess Kate, there was also Queen Elizabeth’s second youngest great-grandson.
