Princess Beatrix broke her wrist skiing and needed surgery. The 85-year-old still does sports regularly.

Princess Beatrix (85), the former Queen of the Netherlands, broke her wrist while skiing. This was announced by the Dutch government information office “RVD”.. The accident happened last Friday (February 17) in Lech, Austria. as “RTL Nieuws” reports. In the meantime, the 85-year-old had undergone an operation in Austria and had “returned to the Netherlands”.

“The princess is otherwise in good health and will recover from her fracture at home,” the RVD continues. The mother of King Willem-Alexander (55) will have to cancel a planned appearance as a result of the skiing accident. Her visit to the 160th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Home for Former Military Personnel and the Bronbeek Museum, announced for 24 February, has been postponed.

Despite her relatively advanced age, Princess Beatrix still does sports regularly. She not only skis in winter, but is also often observed by local residents riding in the woods in the vicinity of her home, Schloss Drakensteyn. as the Dutch daily newspaper “AD” writes.
