Transfers – Bayern Munich would have reached an agreement with Vincent Kompany (Burnley)

Bayern Munich are on target. After having suffered the refusals of Kompany, the current coach of Burnley (under contract until June 2028). A four-year contract would have been agreed between the two parties, according to Bild and Sky Germany.

The German daily specifies that the officialization of the recruitment of Vincent Kompany could take place at the end of the week. However, last step, and not least, the winner of the 2020 Champions League must now negotiate with Burnley, 19th in the Premier League and therefore relegated to the Championship in 2024-25. According to Sky Germany, the English club will demand compensation to let the 38-year-old Belgian technician leave.

Passed by Hamburg when he was a player (2006-08) before joining Manchester City (2008-19), Vincent Kompany began his coaching career at Anderlecht in the summer of 2019, spending a season as player-coach. In the summer of 2022, he took the reins of Burnley and won the Championship title in the spring of 2023. Even though his 2023-24 season has been complicated, the Belgian is poised to bounce back very well.
