Prince William is awarding his Earthshot Prize for the third time. Some celebrities will also be there in Singapore.

From November 5th to 7th, the British heir to the throne will be Prince William (41) will travel to Singapore to award the annual environmental protection award Earthshot Prize. Numerous celebrities are also expected – such as Hollywood star Cate Blanchett (54).

Blanchett is a member of the jury and is quoted as saying: “The Earthshot Prize once again highlights and encourages bold and inventive solutions. We have no time for inaction and despair, and the incredible climate solutions around the globe offer real hope .” The climate solutions presented are “extremely exciting”.

ESC presenter won for the event

The prominent guests were announced on the Environmental Protection Award’s Instagram page. Hannah Waddingham (49) will host the award ceremony. The Brit caused a sensation with her moderation of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. How the Daily Mail reports, It was a “coup” that the celebrated presenter was able to be won over for Prince William’s event. “Introducing the first of our incredible lineup of hosts, presenters and performers,” the Instagram post said. “Join us as we celebrate groundbreaking solutions to protect our planet and name our 2023 Earthshot Prize winners on Tuesday, November 7th.”

One Republic and Bastille will also be on stage

Nature photographer Robert Irwin (19), son of the late conservationist Steve Irwin (1962-2006), will also announce winners. The other big names of the evening include actors Lana Condor (26) and Nomzamo Mbatha (33). The music at the event will be provided by the US band One Republic and the British indie rock band Bastille.

The Earthshot Prize is being awarded for the third time this year. Prince William presented the prize in London for the first time in 2021, and Boston was the host last year. The prize awards winners of five categories with £1 million each to help them scale up their environmental innovations. The 15 finalists, chosen from 1,100 nominations, include ENSO, a British company that has developed a more efficient tire for electric vehicles that emits fewer particles. Princess Kate (41) will not accompany her husband on this trip this time. She was there last year in Boston.
