Together with Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, Prince William and Princess Kate have invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

The big coronation weekend is behind them and duty is already calling again: Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41) held a garden party on the lawn of Buckingham Palace this Tuesday (May 9). Princess Anne (72) and Prince Edward (59) with his wife Duchess Sophie (58) stood by them according to the British “Daily Mail” pulled aside to welcome 500 ‘Coronation Champions’ from across the country to the grounds to celebrate their sterling achievements after being presented with the Coronation Champions Awards by Queen Camilla (75) in February 2023.

Recycled looks

Prince William and Princess Kate, despite the certainly exhausting coronation festivities, appeared radiant as usual and also made the perfect couple visually: Kate recycled a cornflower blue dress with transparent sleeves by Elie Saab and a matching flower hat by Philip Treacy. She had previously worn the look at the famous Royal Ascot horse race in 2019. She paired it with teardrop earrings, a silver clutch and metallic pumps for the garden party. Prince William wore a blue tie and waistcoat to match his wife’s dress and completed his look with a top hat and morning suit. He also had an umbrella with him.

Prince Edward did the same and also showed himself elegantly with tails and top hat. Duchess Sophie, on the other hand, apparently also matched Kate’s color and appeared in a dark blue midi dress with ruffled applications from the Suzannah label. She, too, had already worn her look, which included a striking Jane Taylor hat, to Ascot in 2022.

Tea, sandwiches and cakes are served at the garden parties. They are an integral part of the royal family’s annual schedule. With a bit of luck, guests at the events can have a quick chat with one of the members of the Royals. King Charles III (74) and wife Queen Camilla had already held a garden party on May 3rd, three days before the coronation. The couple are now said to be taking a break after the coronation weekend. According to Britain’s Daily Mail, the king and queen will be spending a few days at Sandringham recovering from the celebrations. The two are said to be taking the rest of the week off and possibly spending a few more days at their Norfolk estate early next week.
