Prince Harry and Prince William are said to have been rivals before Meghan Markle

Author Tina Brown spoke to 120 palace insiders for her latest book and is now revealing many details. So also that the conflict between Prince William and Harry should have started long before the marriage to Meghan Markle.
The relationship between the princes should not have been as good for a long time as it was shown to the outside world for years. Until the appearance of the US actress Meghan Markle at Harry’s side, the two brothers were perceived as close friends. But Prince Harry is said to have repeatedly told an ex-girlfriend about the rivalry between him and his brother.
Author Tina Brown speaks of Harry’s constant frustration that, in his opinion, Prince William should always have been given preferential treatment. “From Harry’s point of view, William always took the credit, a friend of both told me. The younger prince didn’t seem to realize at first that the future king would always get the best patronage,” shared Tina Brown.
Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, with whom he was in a relationship from 2012 to 2014, is said to have noticed the prince’s frustration. He often complained to her about his suffering, so Bonas is said to have advised him at some point to do therapy. But Prince William should not have been the only one in Harry’s focus. He is also said to have “moaned” at Bonas about his father Prince Charles.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s interests seem too similar
Tina Brown’s book “The Palace Papers: Inside The House Of Windsor – The Truth And The Turmoil” not only looks at various royal scandals over the years, but also what caused the deteriorating relationship between William and Harry could have caused.
Brown said a palace source told her a big problem between the brothers is “that their interests are very similar,” which in turn can lead to rivalry. According to the royal expert, one of the things Prince Harry was upset about was that Prince William had been a patron of the rhino and elephant charity Tusk Trust since 2015, a job he would have loved to have done as well.
