Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have not been working members of the royal family since spring 2020.

On Sunday Charles III. and Camilla heads of government at Buckingham Palace. Harry and Meghan were apparently unloaded at short notice.
Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) are said to have been unloaded from a state reception at Buckingham Palace. On Sunday evening (September 18) King Charles III. (73) and Queen Camilla (75), heads of government such as US President Joe Biden (79), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (50) or French President Emmanuel Macron (44) as well as international royals. A total of around 500 invited guests who traveled to London for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) on Monday (September 19) are expected to attend the reception.
According to the “Daily Mail” Harry and Meghan are said to have also received an invitation to the state reception at the beginning of the week. It has now been withdrawn because palace officials are said to have insisted that only “working royals” be allowed to attend the event. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had famously retired as such in Spring 2020.
In addition to King Charles III. and Queen Camilla are also said to be attending the reception with Prince William, 40, Princess Kate, 40, and Princess Anne, 72, as well as Prince Edward, 58, and Sophie of Wessex, 57.
Exception for Prince Harry: He can wear his uniform
An exception is made for Prince Harry: On Saturday evening he will hold a 15-minute wake at his late grandmother’s coffin in Westminster Hall alongside his brother Prince William, wearing his military uniform. Originally it was said that the prince would not wear his uniform at all official events. According to the newspaper “Mirror” Palace officials then changed their minds shortly before. Such an exception was also made for Queen’s son Prince Andrew (62).
At the Queen’s funeral on Monday, however, Harry is expected to attend in a suit again. However, he and his wife Meghan should travel to the funeral separately from the rest of the royal family.
