Before her appearance in Texas, Meghan enjoyed a meal with Prince Harry – at a place that has special meaning for the couple.
Duchess Meghan (42) and Prince Harry (39) apparently spent a romantic evening together in Texas. The 42-year-old is scheduled to appear at the “SXSW” conference in Austin this Friday (March 8th). Together with her husband, Meghan treated herself to a trip to the “Soho House” in the Texas city beforehand. as People magazine reports.
Meghan and Harry, who live in Montecito, California, reportedly ate at the club. “They were happy and in a good mood,” People quoted one person present as saying. “Harry was very lively throughout dinner.” The couple is also said to have behaved inconspicuously and appeared to be “happy about the good atmosphere” in the busy restaurant.
This is where their love began
The club chain has a special meaning for Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: In July 2016, they had their first date at the “Soho House” in London after meeting through a mutual friend on Instagram. Harry revealed this in his autobiography “Spare” and in the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan,” which premiered in December 2022.
When Meghan was in London for the Wimbledon tennis tournament in 2016, the two agreed to meet at the restaurant for a first date. The first impression Meghan got, as she recounted in the Netflix documentary: Prince Harry was too late. “And I couldn’t understand it,” she recalled. “He texted me: ‘I’m stuck in traffic, I’m so sorry’.” When he did show up, Meghan was happy that “he was really embarrassed that he came so late.”
The next meeting seemed to have been a complete success. “He was just so funny, so refreshingly funny. We were like children together,” Meghan said of the date. She left after an hour because she had other plans, but called him that same evening and said: “I have to go the day after tomorrow, are we having dinner together tomorrow? I remember him saying that to me so direct and American of me.
The next evening they had dinner together, apparently again at Soho House, and made the decision “that they would try it together.” “The scales fell from my eyes,” said Harry: “This woman is fantastic. She has everything I was looking for. She feels comfortable with me and is so relaxed in my company.”
