Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan in Nigeria: their trip in pictures

It feels a little as if Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are still an official part of the British royals, as royally as they were courted and received upon their arrival in Nigeria. The pictures are reminiscent of times long past, as the two of them have not gone on such a tour for four years.

Last Friday they arrived in Nigeria early in the morning, before five in the morning, on a British Airways flight from London. Protected behind curtains, the two traveled in first class and got off in Abuja ahead of all other passengers under strict security precautions.

Although the couple had completed a long-haul flight that night, they set off just a few hours later on a tight schedule. Meghan flew to London from her home in Los Angeles; Prince Harry had already been in the British capital for a few days.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry started immediately with appointments in Nigeria

After briefly recovering from the exertions of the trip in the morning, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan visited the Lightway Academy, a school. They talked to the students, teachers and those responsible. We wore traditional wooden chains and watched the performances. Afterwards they changed clothes and went on to a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Defense Force, General Christopher Musa.

At the end of the day, they traveled to a military hospital in Kaduna to talk to wounded soldiers and Kaduna Governor Uba Sani.

The glamor couple’s trip is scheduled to last until Sunday and include a number of daily program items.
