The Three Degrees singer laments: Prince Charles ruined my love life

In the 1970s, Prince Charles was a big fan of the singing group The Three Degrees. However, the crush was not an advantage for singer Sheila Ferguson – as she now reports.
The Three Degrees were a very successful singing trio in the 70’s. The group around Sheila Ferguson had their biggest hit in 1974 with the hit “When will I see you again”. When will I See You Again? In real life, the answer for singer Ferguson was regularly: Not at all.
The reason for this lies in a prominent follower that the soul trio had: none other than Prince Charles was a big fan of the group. Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son apparently had his eye on Sheila Ferguson. The enthusiasm was so great that in 1978 the Prince of Wales invited the three to sing at his 30th birthday party at Buckingham Palace.
Actually a great honor. But for Sheila Ferguson, the royal crush caused a big problem, as the “Daily Mail” reports. “He ruined my love life,” the newspaper quoted the 74-year-old as saying. She also has no problem telling the future King of Great Britain that in person the next time they meet.
Prince Charles raved about the Three Degrees
According to Ferguson, the interest of the then untied heir to the throne meant that no man wanted to date her. Once she asked a man to dance at the disco, who rejected her with the words: “You are Prince Charles’ favorite”.
A few years later, however, it still worked: In 1980, Ferguson married the British businessman Chris Robinson, with whom she has two children. The marriage ended in divorce in 2004, in the same year the singer took part in the show “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” part, the British edition of the jungle camp.
Over the years, Ferguson and the royal have apparently kept in touch: the artist has been an ambassador for the “Prince’s Trust” since 2008, the foundation founded by Prince Charles. It is quite possible that the two will soon cross paths there. And perhaps there will be a long-overdue discussion of Charles’ impact on the Three Degrees singer’s love life.
