Apparently royal blood is also thicker than water. King Charles has no plans to kick out his brother, according to a new report.
Even after the latest revelations from court documents as part of the Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) abuse scandal, there are apparently no real consequences for Prince Andrew (63). As several British media are now reporting, King Charles III. (75) still refuses to throw his younger brother out of his home, the Royal Lodge, in Windsor.
For the royals, “blood is thicker than water”
An acquaintance of the Duke of York, who is said to be in regular contact with him, claims, according to The Times, that the monarch would never authorize Andrew’s expulsion – even if some palace staff were in favor of it. According to the insider, Prince Andrew is uncomfortable that his friendship with Epstein is once again in the public eye as a result of the revealed court documents. The 63-year-old is not worried about losing his home.
“The king is someone with a high level of integrity,” the newspaper quotes. “There are people in the royal household who would act more aggressively, but in this family blood is thicker than water.”
According to the insider, Prince Andrew, like every tenant, has rights to the property in Windsor Great Park, where he has lived in the 30-room Royal Lodge for around 20 years. According to his lease agreement, the son of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) and Prince Philip (1921-2021) has the right to continue living there until 2078.
The media recently reported that the prince, who fell into disgrace as a result of the Epstein scandal, could move to Frogmore Cottage, the former home of Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42).
This is what the new documents reveal
On January 3, a US court published around 40 documents from the libel trial between abuse victim Virginia Giuffre (40) and Epstein’s long-time friend and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell (62). It not only contains a list of 170 real names that were mentioned in the process. Another plaintiff named Johanna Sjoberg also claims in court documents that Prince Andrew sexually harassed her in 2001.
Giuffre had already sued Prince Andrew in August 2021. She accused him of sexually abusing her at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion when she was 17. Andrew vehemently denied all allegations. An out-of-court settlement was reached in February 2022. Andrew is said to have paid Guiffre a sum in the millions. He resigned from his royal duties in May 2020. In January 2022, Andrew was forced to relinquish his titles and patronage and has since no longer been called “His Royal Highness”.
