Don’t they have to move? Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are said to be allowed to stay in their home – at least for the time being.
Prince Andrew (63) can probably continue to live in the Royal Lodge so that his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (63) can recover from her breast cancer operation there in peace. This is reported by “Page Six”, the celebrity page of the “New York Post”, citing sources close to the royal family.
The ex-couple has shared the Royal Lodge since 2003
Accordingly, the royal family is said to have put all relocation plans on hold to give the Duchess of York, known as “Fergie”, time to recover. Although divorced from Prince Andrew in 1996, she has lived with him in the large house near Windsor Castle since 2003. As long as Fergie is suffering from her cancer, the ex-couple would not be thrown out of the 30-room property, “Page Six” claims to have learned from the royal sources.
Allegedly, the two should at the request of King Charles III. (64) actually move to the smaller (and cheaper) Frogmore Cottage, where Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) used to live. But the British media recently said that Andrew was fighting the plans and refusing to move out.
Can Andrew still afford the big house?
So now he seems to be getting a reprieve. However, the financial issue should not end there. Because Charles should insist that Andrew pay his own expenses. As “Page Six” reports, he doesn’t seem to have enough income to cover the rent and upkeep of the big house. Due to his alleged involvement in the abuse scandal involving sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019), Andrew fell out of favor within the Royal Family and has not received any royalties since then.
Fergie is said to have had an eight-hour surgery
As it became known in June, Sarah Ferguson was diagnosed with breast cancer during a routine examination. She was then treated directly at King Edward VII Hospital in London and underwent a unilateral mastectomy. The operation was not easy, as the “Daily Mail” reported. The operation lasted eight hours. She then had to spend four days in intensive care. Meanwhile, the Duchess is said to be resting at home from the major surgery. “She’s had a lot of support. Both of her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, are very supportive, as is Andrew,” Page Six quoted a friend as saying.
