In the conflict between Airbus and IG Metall over the planned restructuring of the aircraft manufacturer, employees of the Airbus subsidiary Premium Aerotec went on a warning strike in Augsburg on Friday. More than 1000 men and women took part in a rally at the Premium Aerotec headquarters. IG Metall had called for a warning strike that lasted almost a day at all Airbus Operations and Premium Aerotec locations and planned rallies at several plants. Airbus boss Guillaume Faury announced in April that parts of Airbus Operations and large parts of the Augsburg subsidiary will be merged into a new operation at the beginning of 2022.
