Spring takes its time in Germany: temperatures only rise significantly on Easter Monday.

You won’t need an umbrella when looking for Easter eggs, but you will need a warm jacket: According to the forecast by the German Weather Service (DWD), Easter Sunday will begin with temperatures in the single digits. This will not have changed in the morning around 10 a.m., the “main Easter egg hunt time”, explained DWD meteorologist Martin Jonas on Saturday in Offenbach.

Only in the west could it be a little warmer. During the day it will be milder, especially in the west, where 16 to 17 degrees are possible. In addition, you can fill up with sunshine, especially from the southwest to the Neisse, as the DWD said. On the other hand, dense clouds are hanging over the southeast and north.

Easter Monday offers even better prospects of sunshine and excursion weather, also in the south-east, where – as in the south-west – it can even get up to 20 degrees warm. Otherwise, the temperatures are between a maximum of 14 and 18 degrees. In the northwest and west, more and more clouds are gathering during the day, from which it can also rain.

From Tuesday it will be cooler and there will be rain. Thunderstorms are also possible. Instead of a mild spring breeze, a stiff, sometimes even stormy breeze is blowing, as DWD meteorologist Jonas announced.
