Apple is now offering the MacBook Air with the very powerful, but at the same time energy-saving M3 chip. You can get the laptop with a 13 or 15 inch display at prices starting at just under 1300 euros.

Even though Apple only presented it with a press release, some users have probably already been waiting for the new MacBook Air models, which are now available. Although the devices hardly differ from their predecessors, they are equipped with the in-house M3 chip, which, despite extremely high processor performance, is efficient enough to ensure long runtimes of up to 18 hours, according to Apple.

The new MacBook Air is available with a 13- or 15-inch display in four different colors: dark blue (midnight), beige (Polar Star), gray and silver. The simplest model, which costs around 1,300 euros, has the M3 with an 8-core main processor (CPU) and a graphics unit (GPU) with eight computing cores. The RAM is 8 gigabytes (GB) and the SSD storage is 256 GB. The case still only has two Thunderbolt ports (USB 4) and one magnetic charging port (MagSafe 3).

13-inch device with M2 chip as a slightly cheaper alternative

For around 1530 euros, buyers get a 512 GB SSD and the GPU is equipped with ten cores. For the version with 16 GB of RAM you have to shell out almost 1,760 euros. The MacBook Air models with 15-inch screens all have graphics units with ten cores, otherwise the selection is identical to the 13s.

The cheapest 15-inch version with 256 GB of storage costs around 1,600 euros, the additional charge for double SSD storage is 230 euros. Apple wants around 2060 euros for the MacBook Air M3 with a 15-inch display, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD. The devices can be ordered now and will be available from March 8th.

Alternatively, Apple still offers the MacBook Air with a 13-inch screen and M2 chip. Prices here start at around 1200 euros.
