The British singer has made herself rare for years. Now she is reporting back to her fans with new music – and immediately provides for discussion.

Adele (33) delighted her fans with a longer look at her comeback single. On Instagram Live, the Briton played an approximately 35-second excerpt from “Easy On Me” late on Saturday evening (CEST), in which her emotional voice could be heard to the sounds of the piano.

Shortly afterwards, she reported that her phone was already ringing and that this could mean trouble about the playback. It is already the song of the year, said some of their fans on Twitter and Instagram.

Already on Tuesday Adele (“Hello”, “Skyfall”) posted a short video clip of the song, which is due to appear next Friday. The 2015 Oscar and Grammy winner released her last album, “25”.

After isolated criticism of a photo posted some time ago with a Bantu knot hairstyle and bikini top in Jamaica colors, her fans again jumped at her side. It is shocking that it is now considered a cultural appropriation when someone enjoys someone else’s culture, wrote an Instagram user about the picture. Another said: “Don’t consider it an insult, but a compliment.”

Adele posted the photo online in August 2020 while on vacation in Jamaica and dreamed of the Notting Hill Carnival in London. Some had seen it as an appropriation of African culture. Adele admitted in a recently published interview with Vogue magazine that she fully understood why people would have considered it appropriate for her to delete the photo. “But if I take it down, I’ll pretend that didn’t happen,” she said.
