Radio play “Double Staircase to the Forest” by Lamin Leroy Gibba – Media

Author Lamin Leroy Gibba has created a paradise in which his characters – all people of color – try to resist displacement.

“I want to go.” – “That’s not your responsibility to decide.” Oops, what’s going on here? The author Lamin Leroy Gibba brings together nine fictional people of color, all of whom grew up in Germany, in his radio play Double stairs to the forest in a garden. A secret place is one to which not everyone has easy access. You can definitely imagine this garden as a paradise, perhaps it doesn’t even exist as a real place, but as a state. Then it would be a utopia. A protected place where these people can be among themselves. Where they are not a minority, where they do not have to justify their life plans and their identity from the outset because they are different from the majority.
