Last week, the apartments and business premises of climate activists were searched – which caused controversy. A survey now shows that a majority supports the approach.

A majority of people in Germany consider the raid against the climate protection group Last Generation last week to be correct.

This is the result of a survey by the opinion research institute Forsa for the RTL/ntv “trend barometer”. 58 percent expressed their opinion accordingly, 37 percent consider the raid to be excessive, according to the survey.

Police and public prosecutors raided the last generation last week. 170 officers searched 15 apartments and business premises in seven federal states, as announced by the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. The allegation is to form or support a criminal organization. The activists deny being criminals. The raid was widely criticized as excessive.
