Police officer in Senden – ring finger torn off – Bavaria

A police officer in Bavarian Swabia tore his finger off during a chase with a suspected intoxicated cyclist. His colleague was slightly injured in a scuffle. On Thursday night in Senden in the Neu-Ulm district, the officers had become aware of a cyclist traveling in a serpentine line, the police said. When trying to control the 32-year-old, he fled on foot. However, the man suddenly stopped and pushed one of the police officers, so that a scuffle developed.

When trying to climb over a fence to cut off the fugitive’s path, one of the policemen got caught with a ring. Here he had torn off his entire ring finger. Despite immediate medical measures, it was not possible to sew the 33-year-old’s finger back on. According to the police, the cyclist was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
