Pôle emploi calls for vigilance after a data leak

Pôle emploi called on Wednesday in a press release job seekers to be vigilant, after “an act of cyber-maliciousness” of which one of its service providers was the victim.

“The surnames and first names, the current or former status of job seekers as well as the Social Security number of job seekers” are “likely to be disclosed”. However, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, passwords and bank details are not affected.

Fraud vigilance

“While this incident does not pose a risk to compensation or access to the personal space of pole-emploi.fr, we invite you to remain vigilant in the face of any type of approach or proposal that could appear fraudulent” , writes Pôle emploi on its website.

The organization has made a notification to the National Commission for Computing and Liberties (Cnil), and will send an email to all the jobseekers concerned.
