Poker: Serious allegations: Is Czech Martin Kabrhel cheating at poker? | Sports

The poker scene is in turmoil!

Martin Kabrhel (40) has been targeted by numerous poker stars because he is said to not be playing the tournaments quite legally. He should mark the cards during the game and thus manipulate the game. As a result, some players are demanding that the World Series of Poker organizers ban Kabrhel from the series.

Does the Czech really cheat at poker?

Briton Andrew Robl got the ball rolling, raging on Twitter: “Why isn’t Martin Kabrhel banned from the WSOP? And on top of that, I’ve seen him mark cards in every tournament I’ve played with him.”

The fact is: So far there is no clear evidence that he really does it.

But there are several videos circulating on Twitter that are intended to prove the allegations. Kabrhel, who has $11.7 million in live tournament winnings in his career, has yet to comment.

He caused quite a stir with his 3rd place at the tournament in Las Vegas ($250,000 entry fee/approx. EUR 229,000). Not only did he win $2.3 million, but he was also the least popular player at the table. Again and again he caused a bad mood among the players with his behavior.

Sixth-placed Dan Smith upset: “Playing with him is just incredibly uncomfortable. He’s rude, he takes the full 30 seconds every time, and I felt like something wasn’t right that night. I don’t know what, but to me it’s ridiculous that he gets to play the tournament at all.”

Smith and Robl also agreed with other top stars in the scene, such as record winner Phil Hellmuth, who has already won 16 gold bracelets (the most coveted trophy in poker). One thing is clear: The organizers of the WSOP must now act quickly in order not to create even more bad mood.

By the way: The American Chris Brewer won the most expensive tournament of this year’s series, grabbing 5.3 million dollars (4.85 million euros).
