Poinger police get 27 million euro new building – Ebersberg

The police officers in Traunreut are already a step further than their Poinger colleagues: Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) has just turned the first sod for their spacious and modern new office building, and it should be finished in 2025. Generous and modern – the Poinger police station is still a long way from that at the moment. The building on Markomannenstraße, which was erected in 1971 and expanded several times, is not only too small, but also quite outdated. But improvement has now been announced here too: As a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior emphasizes, a new building in Grub is to be initiated “as soon as possible”.

An area for the new building had already been identified here in 2020. It used to belong to the test farm in Grub, later the chicken coops there became flea market halls. Because it was clear that the Poing police would definitely need more space in the medium term, a search for a location was made a few years ago and the site in Grub was ultimately chosen. Even if not much concrete information has been heard about a move since then, the spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior said the plans and the Grub location will continue to be adhered to. In addition to the police inspection with central operations services, a center for police operations training will also be set up there.

The project has already cleared an important hurdle, the money for it has been earmarked in the budget. According to current estimates, the new building will cost around 27 million euros.

As far as the schedule is concerned, no concrete data has yet been received from the Ministry of the Interior. “The project application has already been approved by the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Homeland. The planning order for the preparation of the project documents can now be issued. The further schedule then depends on this. The measure should in any case be implemented as quickly as possible”, means it in the opinion. The building in Grub is designed for 73 employees, currently a total of 64 employees are assigned to the Poing police station.

Helmut Hintereder, the head of the police department, is happy about the prospect – even if he will no longer be moving with him.

PI Poing is relieved to hear that the relocation plans are now being pursued. “For me, the starting signal for the project has now been given,” says the head of the police inspection, Helmut Hintereder. The conditions in the building, which was originally designed for only 45 employees, are very cramped, the building is simply too small. Hintereder also does not dare to forecast when a move will probably take place, given the full order books of the construction companies, it will probably not be easy, according to his forecast. One thing is certain: he himself will no longer be moving, as he will be able to retire in February 2023. “But I will of course continue to pursue it and I’m already looking forward to the inauguration,” he says.
