Podcast “Munich personally” with Sandra Forster – Munich

Sandra Forster is a passionate restaurateur. She currently runs the “Blitz” (restaurant and club), the “Charlie” bar restaurant, the vegetarian restaurant “Kismet” and the training restaurant “Roecklplatz” in Munich.

She grew up in Pullach in the district of Munich, moved out of her parents’ house at the age of 14 and earned her first money as a piercer. Her gastro career started in 2000: “Hit the Sky”, her first bar, she opened on Baaderstraße.

Forster herself no longer knows exactly how many bars and clubs she has created (and had to close again) since then. But her experiences always inspired her to do something new.

She realized one of these ideas together with gastro colleague Michi Kern in Lederstrasse in 2005: the first vegan restaurant, the “Saf im Zerwirk”.

How did that come across in the scene? Sandra Forster answers this question, among other things, in the podcast episode that was created in her restaurant “Blitz” on Museum Island, on bus 132 and at Roecklplatz. It’s not just about work, nightlife and the effects of Corona, but also about Forster’s career, her everyday life – and what Munich should do better to preserve the subculture.

For the podcast of the Munich editorial team, social editor Jana Jöbstl, People editor Sabine Buchwald, and Ulrike Heidenreich and René Hofmann, the heads of the Munich, Region and Bavaria departments, take turns picking up well-known Munich residents at their place of residence or their workplace. You can go on a discovery tour by tram, bus, subway or S-Bahn, taxi or rickshaw.

The guest can choose the route, it goes past historical places and special places with memories. It’s about current projects and very personal plans.
