The superiors of the Munich podcast production company “Kugel und Niere” can be happy, because Leah Dakowski and Lina Kempenich, both 25, friends and colleagues, share this hobby. Now they have come up with the podcast format “Juice,” in which they want to tell stories “about their cousins, about their friends from home,” says Dakowski. “But not gala gossip, more private gossip.”
To do this, the two are looking for content in which they anonymize names, places and unimportant details. They already have a few cases: For example, a man who got caught up in a lie about a made-up testicular infection because he wanted to visit his date in the hospital, or about a horror Airbnb experience. Do you know the people? That doesn’t matter! And did it all really happen like that? Incidental. The main thing is that the stories are bizarre, funny and not too blatant.
