Pocking: 43 refugees crammed into vans – Bavaria

The police checked the van on Tuesday around 12:20 p.m. at the Pocking junction on Autobahn 3, a few kilometers behind the border with Austria. There were 43 refugees and the suspected smuggler in the vehicle. He was able to escape. According to the police spokesman, the human smuggler is being searched for using a helicopter and dogs. The origin of the 43 refugees was initially unclear. The men, women and children were taken to the federal police station in Passau. The identity of the refugees should be clarified there.

The neighboring federal police station in Freilassing, Upper Bavaria, reported that officers registered 101 unauthorized entries on Monday alone. A van with a total of 17 people in it was also discovered in Burghausen early on Monday morning.
