Pocketbook Era Color: New e-reader with color display costs 260 euros

Pocketbook has introduced another e-reader with a color display. With E Ink Kaleido 3, the Pocketbook Era Color uses the same color technology that is also used in the Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3. Compared to the internal competing product, the new Era Color is a little cheaper: It costs 260 euros, while the InkPad Color 3 regularly costs over 300 euros.

The Era Color also has two physical buttons on the right side of the case that can be used to switch pages. The screen is 7 inches in size and has a resolution of 1264 x 1680 pixels when displaying grayscale. If the Era Color is switched to color display, it still displays 632 × 840 pixels – i.e. only 150 dpi compared to the 300 dpi for the black and white image.”

The Era Color’s display is illuminated and the color temperature can be adjusted. According to the manufacturer, the e-book reader is also protected against water up to two meters deep according to IPX8. In addition to e-books, you can also consume audio books on the Era Color. You can either use the integrated speakers or pair Bluetooth speakers.

A reading function that Pocketbook integrates into the Era could also be practical. Users can listen to their e-books via text-to-speech. According to the manufacturer, 26 languages ​​are supported. A total of 32 GB of internal storage space is available for e-books and audio books, which cannot be expanded. The RAM is 1 GB and the processor is a quad-core chip with 1.8 GHz. The battery is charged via USB-C.

According to the manufacturer, the Pocketbook Era Color measures 13.4 × 15.5 × 0.79 centimeters and weighs 235 grams.
