Pliening: combine harvester sets barley field on fire – Ebersberg

A barley field caught fire near Pliening around 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. According to the police, the fire started when a 25-year-old wage worker was working with the combine harvester in the field on Parsdorfer Straße between Grub and Landsham. Apparently due to the accumulation of dust and dirt in the mower drive, sparks flew and the barley located behind the combine began to burn. Due to the drought, the fire spread rapidly and destroyed around four hectares of open space. The farmer estimates the damage at around 10,000 euros. Nobody got hurt.
