“Dive into the critically acclaimed Dave the Diver when it joins the PlayStation Plus games catalog on April 16,” writes PlayStation in its announcement on X and the PlayStation Blog.

A game for April is no longer a secret. The remaining games that will be added this month will not follow until the end of the week. But do you even need to know more to be hyped? After all, Dave the Diver is critically acclaimed and has a 90 rating on Metacritic.
“Dave the Diver is a unique hybrid marine adventure that combines ocean exploration with sushi restaurant management. The game focuses on the central plot, narrative, characters and addictive mini-games,” explained Jaeho Hwang, director and game designer of Dave the Diver.

There he also explains how the concept for Dave the Diver came about. It all started with a diving game concept. But developer Mintrocket wanted to do more with the captured sea creatures and so the sushi restaurant mechanic was born. And that’s not just a minor aspect of the game.
“While the initial gameplay focuses on creating the menu and serving the delicious dishes in the lively sushi restaurant, players will later get involved in the exciting cooking competitions,” says Hwang. Dave the Diver also features cooking competitions, a photo mode, a rhythm game and seahorse races. So it’s worth it.
