Planegg – Pile of leaves for hedgehogs – District of Munich

Foliage in the garden can fulfill an important ecological function. The environmental office of the municipality of Planegg therefore asks garden owners to consider whether there is space for one or more piles of leaves in their garden. If it lies under the hedge or is covered with some shrubbery clippings, the leaves can no longer be carried by the wind and offer an ideal wintering opportunity for animals. Not only hedgehogs like to hibernate here, amphibians and insects also like to accept such offers. Anyone who still has leaves left can pick up and fill the municipality’s leaf sacks for one euro per piece from the town hall and the recycling center. They will be collected from the roadside on Wednesday, November 10th and Wednesday, December 1st.
