When reading aloud in the modern nuclear family, there are basically only three scenarios. Possibility one: The child squeaks happily, the legal guardians or those temporarily obliged to provide entertainment bang their heads against the wall. Reason: The book comes from the Leo Lausemaus series or has already been read 25 times in the past 24 hours. Possibility two, child and reader in the ying and yang and equally entertained, is – zippelzefix – unfortunately rarer. Possibility three is the latest book by a bestseller idiot Heinz Strunk. The man who can read chuckles to himself here and there. The child: understands little or nothing about the plot. Heinz Strunk’s first picture book “Die Käsis” falls into this category.
