Erling Haaland has already driven numerous defenders to despair. However, the BVB star bit his teeth off Virgil van Dijk.
BVB striker Erling Haaland has named Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk as the toughest defender he has ever played against.
“He was really good. He’s big, strong, fast and has good timing. I don’t think I’ve won a single duel against him,” said the 21-year-old in an interview with Sky Sports about the Dutchman, who is nine years his senior, and described him as a “physical monster”.
BVB striker Haaland met van Dijk three times
Haaland and van Dijk have already met three times, and the Norwegian has not won once (one draw, two defeats), but has netted twice.
In the Champions League, Haaland met twice in RB Leipzig van Dijk’s kit (3: 4, 1: 1), once they faced each other in the World Cup qualifier (1: 1).
