Philippe Poutou also said he was “not far from 200 sponsorships”, or “the same pace as five years ago”. He called on the mayors of small towns “because they are not included” to sponsor his candidacy “different, useful and legitimate but outside the political system”.
The Bordeaux city councilor has already qualified in the first round of the presidential election in 2012 and 2017, collecting 572 and 573 sponsorships respectively. He obtained 1.15% of the votes cast in 2012 and 1.2% of the votes in 2017.
