The festival season is in full swing. After Rock am Ring and Rock im Park had already attracted tens of thousands of visitors at the beginning of June, the Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel and the Southside Festival in Neuhausen ob Eck started on Friday. On Friday the fans celebrated at the Hurricane to acts like Bosse, Kraftklub, Billy Talent or Peter Fox. However, the latter had to briefly interrupt his concert.
The weather in Scheeßel was warm but not too hot, there had been a few raindrops in the late afternoon. Nevertheless, the festival area continued to resemble a dusty hell. Many visitors tried to protect themselves from the dusty air with scarves or FFP2 masks. But it didn’t stop anyone from celebrating.
Peter Fox interrupts Hurricane performance
When Peter Fox entered the stage shortly before 9 p.m., the crowds celebrated exuberantly. But when Pierre Baigorry, as Peter Fox’s real name is, had just started another hit, he had to pause his show for a short time. “We have to take a short break. What’s going on?” he asked the audience.
Apparently there was a scene there that the musician on stage did not miss. Wanting to make sure nothing worse had happened, he pressed on: “Everything ok? Someone will come immediately”he announced, meaning the security staff and the paramedics present.

After the short incident, Peter Fox continued his show, delivering many new hits as well as old ones. While there was a lot more dancing and singing with the latter, the party mood eased off a bit during the newer songs. “Don’t pick me up like that now,” said a festival visitor in an interview with watson, somewhat disappointed by the set list. But hits like “Alles neu” or “Schttel dein Speck” made up for the songs that were less well-known to non-hardcore fans.
Headliners call for more mindfulness
Peter Fox wasn’t the only artist to interrupt his show due to an audience incident. The Donots, who were performing on the same stage that afternoon, also took a short break because someone in the crowd seemed to need help. During their show, headliners Billy Talent also called for mindfulness and helping each other during concerts.
